| 18.10.2011 | Looking for a needle in a haystack - Good strategies for test case selection |
Turtorial with Dr. Anne Kramer on the MBT User Conference 2011The major drawback of automatic test case generation from models is the problem of test case explosion. Due to the combinatory path generation even simple models rapidly lead to a large number of test cases, some of them having only limited added value. In this tutorial we present strategies how to find the needle in a haystack, i.e. how to select an "ideal" set of test cases. We explain the influence of the test focus and test depth on test case selection. In addition, we discuss different path generation strategies, filtering criteria and prioritization within the model. Using a simple example from a real project the group has the possibility gain some practice. Get more informations about MBT User Conf 2011 To download a article you must be logged in.
